Air Freight Consultant

Lanter Air Freight is an expedited transportation service that offers premium support to our clients. In the Air Freight Consultant role, you will be responsible for interacting with our customer base and collaborating with vendors to execute the timely delivery of freight to its final destination.

Key Deliverables:

• Has a positive attitude and provides courteous, friendly service to all internal team members and external customers, by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries and requests.
• Coordinate all import/export freight activities, including quotation, booking, documentation, data entry, shipment tracking and tracing, and arranging deliveries,
• Advise clients concerning terms of delivery & payment, insurance, services, transport alternatives, etc.
• Verify weights and dimensions of cargo to evaluate and advise the best mode of transportation.
• Communicate on a daily basis with airlines, vendors, truckers, customers, and warehouse contacts.
• Communicate with external vendors and customers with updates to ETA's on shipments.
• Communicate with external vendors to make key decisions to avoid delays and disruptions to receiving freight.
• Comply with all United States customs, regulations, and requirements.
• Handle requirements for dangerous or controlled goods and ensure to have proper export-controlled permits, licenses and etc.
• Check the payable invoice before sending to the accounting department.
• Ensures all documentation, such as invoices, AWB and other related documents for outbound/inbound shipments are completed accurately and forwarded to the appropriate party.
• Protects company assets and confidential information in accordance with company policies and procedures. Including, but not limited to, candidates, team members, customers, vendors, and proprietary company information. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full - time position, specific hours with vary based on the location, typically Monday through Saturday 32-40 hours per week. Evenings, overnights, and weekends are required based on location and needs of business.

Required Education and Experience:

• High School diploma required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Previous experience managing vendors/air carriers preferred.
• Superior communication skills, able to effectively interact with all levels of the company.
• Customer service mindset; able to serve both internal and external customers.
• SAP experience - 1 year preferred.
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail
