Under the direction of the Director of HR, the HR Specialist supports the employee life cycle process for all employees and temporary workers within an assigned District/Department. These responsibilities include but are not limited to hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, training, discipline and separations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Always maintains confidentiality and acts as an ambassador of the company.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and timely HR documentation for team member and payroll files.
  • Maintains, reviews, and audits the position control document ensuring the accuracy of headcount data.
  • Daily maintenance of general HR email inbox.
  • First point of contact for team member related questions and escalating complex issues for resolution.
  • Assist with audits and evaluations, validation of data, and analysis of data transactions within HR-related systems to maintain data integrity and systems accuracy, perform general maintenance, ensure efficient operations, and enable systems controls and process excellence.
  • Assist with administration of health and welfare plans including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Ensure proper documentation is received for benefit related elections ie, Wellness credit, Dependent eligibility, EOI, etc.
  • Coordinates and administers new hire orientation and team member HR related training.
  • Maintains and updates HR SOPs and the employee handbook with policy updates.
  • Maintains team member employment files in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Create and run necessary reports related to team member data and daily metric tracking.
  • Assists with development and coordination of team member events.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic HR functions.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize effectively and work within deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and procedures.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Demonstrated PC skills and MS Office skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.

EDUCATION
High School Diploma Required

EXPERIENCE
1+ yrs of HR relevant experience

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (May vary based on assigned support locations)
  • Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations.
  • Ability to travel to site locations periodically.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to speak English to communicate with clients, employees, vendors, etc.
